Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, MK Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steve Wright!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Boy closes the distance and clinches.
Boy tries for a takedown. No joy.
Wright with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Boy gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Boy throws a head punch that misses.
Boy lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Steve Wright has been cut.
Boy wants to break the clinch but can't.
Boy misses with a body punch.

Wright escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wright tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wright stuffs the takedown attempt from Boy. Boy gets slowly back to his feet.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Wright holds on and takes a little breather.

Wright has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Boy off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Boy pushes Wright up against the cage in a clinch.

Boy wants to break free but Wright has control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boy takes a kick to the side of the head.

Wright pushes Boy up against the cage in a clinch.

and Wright holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

and Wright counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wright.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Boy just misses with a elbow thrown towards Wright's brow.

Wright breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Wright counters with a stiff right hand.
Wright avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Boy goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Boy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Boy tries a head kick but it misses.
A solid leg kick lands there for Wright.
Boy fails with an attempt to clinch.
Wright tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boy lands a nice shot that snaps Wright's head back.
Boy pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boy misses with a few strikes there.

Steve Wright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wright has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
