Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oda Musashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oda Musashi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Jones!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Musashi shoots in but no luck this time.
Musashi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jones but Jones pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Musashi fails to land with a series of punches.
Musashi circles away from the clinch attempt.

Musashi feints and as Jones raises his hands in defense, Musashi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones is looking to stand up but Musashi isn't so interested in that idea.

Musashi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Musashi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Musashi feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Musashi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jones stacks Musashi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jones!

Jones has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Jones goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Musashi's guard.
Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Musashi is proving hard to escape from.

Musashi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jones escapes and throws Musashi's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Musashi kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

so Musashi counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Musashi postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Musashi, into his guard.
