Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jackie Burks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Fighter Three!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Three rushes Burks and presses him up against the cage.
Three wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Burks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Three is trying to push Burks away but Burks has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Three is trying to break the clinch but Burks has him pressed against the cage.
Three will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Burks up against the cage.

Three breaks from the clinch.
Three tries to clinch up.
Burks seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Three throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Burks was covering up waiting for the punch and Three finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Burks wriggles free and stands up.
Burks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Three holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Burks fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Burks is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Three to keep the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackie Burks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burks fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Burks turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Burks will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Three tries to improve position but can't.

Burks has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Three gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Three escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Burks keeps the fight on the outside.
Three feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Burkss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Burks keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Three's efforts to push away.

Three wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Three wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Three has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A frustrated look appears on Three's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Three stalls.

Burks drags the fight down to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Three got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Three has managed to get both his arms back between Burks's legs - danger averted.

Three tries to free his leg and advance position but Burks is retaining full guard.
Burks seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Burks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Three just stands there and leans against the cage.
Three creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Burks has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Three uses from the top position.
Burks looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Three puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Three has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Three is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Burks has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Burks!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Three has his foot on Burks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Burks works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Burks looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Three throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Three is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Burks to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.

Three moves nicely into side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Three wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Burks, who protects the arm well.
Burks gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fighter Three showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Three jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Burks is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Burks and Three has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

You can see the frustration on Burks's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The strikes coming from Three are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Three throwing strikes but Burks manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Burks decides to stand back up. Burks steps back and let's Three get back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Burks drops back, looking for a kneebar! Three looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Three looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Three!

Burks wants to control but Three postures up.

Three scoring with punches and elbows.
Three misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Three grinds an elbow into Burks's temple.

Three goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Burks has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Three but great work by Burks.

Fighter Three is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Three works to advance to full mount. Burks defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Fighter Three comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Three has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
