PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Echo Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marx has chosen How I could just kill a man as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jordan Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Echo Marx!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Marx tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jackson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Marx parries the strikes from Jackson easily there. Jackson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Marx to escape.

Jackson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jackson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jackson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marx is just riding it out for now. Jackson eventually gives up the hold.

Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Marx doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Marx manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Jackson counters by moving into the clinch.
Marx is working for takedown but Jackson is calmly controlling the position for now.
Jordan Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Echo Marx.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jackson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
