Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dean Smith (ranked 3333 p4p, 346 weight class) and Domingo Dengra (ranked 7864 p4p, 0 weight class). Domingo Dengra acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dengra scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Smith doesn't seem bothered though.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dengra as he avoids it easily.
Dengra connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Smith throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dengra was covering up waiting for the punch and Smith finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Smith drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dengra dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
We've been hearing good reports from Smith's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Dengra stays in close to Smith's body and controls the position.
Dengra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dengra has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Smith is proving hard to escape from.

Smith has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Dengra should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Smith has tightened it up now! Dengra should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
