Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barry Allen (ranked 24087 p4p, 646 weight class) and Dan Sliva (ranked 23920 p4p, 665 weight class). Dan Sliva will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sliva.
Allen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sliva wants to control but Allen is keeping him busy.

Sliva tries for a kimura but Allen is defending well.
Sliva prevents Allen from escaping the position.
Allen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sliva.
Allen wants to get back to his feet but Sliva drags him back down.
Sliva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Allen keeps working.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Allen wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Sliva grinds an elbow into Allen's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The strikes coming from Sliva are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Allen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Sliva is controlling him well.

Sliva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sliva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Allen sneaks out the side door and pushes Sliva away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Allen moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Dan Sliva has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Allen connects with a looping right hand.
Allen fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sliva has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Allen throws a series of punches but Sliva moves out of range.
Sliva fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Allen avoids it really well and circles away.
As Sliva tries to get set, Allen tries to push him back and clinch up but Sliva manages to avoid the attempt.
Allen throws a series of punches but Sliva avoids them all with ease.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Allen lands with a slapping head kick.

Sliva changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Allen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Allen is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Allen pushes Sliva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sliva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
An elbow from Sliva crashes against the mat.
Sliva throws an elbow but Allen slips to the side and avoids it well.
Allen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sliva asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Allen trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Allen tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Sliva has his opponent's back but Allen is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Sliva.
Barry Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Allen feints and then cracks Sliva's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sliva down.

Allen scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Sliva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Allen manages to avoid it.

Sliva looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Allen!

Allen sneaks out the side door and pushes Sliva away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Allen lands a two punch combo.
Allen throws a leg kick which misses Sliva's front leg but catches the back leg as Sliva tries to avoid it.
The crowd cheers as Allen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sliva doesn't seem phased though.
Allen fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Allen waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Sliva. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Sliva to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Sliva is rocked!
Allen postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Sliva covers up, he's hurt! Allen keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Allen and the ref steps in to end the fight! Allen can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
