Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fidel Oneill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Knuckle Up !
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneill throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Up 's waist but Up gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Oneill off to one side.

Up has managed to clinch.
Oneill is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Oneill tries to pull guard but Up forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fidel Oneill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Up effectively controlling the action here.

Up gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Oneill gets full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Up looking to pass the guard.
Oneill has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Up throws an elbow that misses. Oneill uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Up 's guard. Nice move by Oneill!

Up is striking but Oneill is not phased and passes to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oneill is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Up really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oneill. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oneill trying to control the action but Up is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Up has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Oneill is working away from the top position though.
Oneill is keen to just control but Up is a slippery customer.
Up wants to control but Oneill is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Oneill thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Up 's head.

Oneill is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Up defends it well.
Up is looking for a sweep. Oneill is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Up trying to control from the bottom.

Oneill is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Up has a hand on Oneill's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Oneill takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Up is trying to escape the mount.

Up tries to lock up and control but Oneill gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Up doing his best to control the position. Can he escape?
Up gets back to half guard.
Oneill could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Up wants to sweep but Oneill has passed to side control!
Up looks winded!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oneill in the domination position with Up hanging on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fidel Oneill dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Oneill wants to clinch but Up slips to the side

and Up counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Oneill is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Up presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Oneill wants to take the fight to the mat but Up manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Up misses with a punch to the body.

Up breaks from the clinch.

Up closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Oneill did well to prevent Up getting side control.
Oneill tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Up manages to move to mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Oneill tries to hold on but Up pushes him away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oneill keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Up is trying to control here but Oneill has managed to regain half guard.
Oneill is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Up 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Up 's back!

Oneill is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Up with him. Up is trying to defend but Oneill has an arm under the chin now! Up grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Fidel Oneill!
