Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Alexander (ranked 5560 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Chris (ranked 5559 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Chris!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chris throws a head kick that misses.

Oooooh!!! Chris has knocked Alexander down with a huge combo! Chris steps away and waves a wobbly Alexander back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Alexander is rocked!


It looks like Douglas Alexander has been cut.
Nice takedown defense from Chris. No joy for Alexander on that attempt.
Oh Alexander is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chris fakes the leg kick and cracks Alexander in the body.
Alexander really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Alexander shoots and misses

and Chris holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chris is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Alexander to keep the fight standing.

Chris jumps into guard, dragging Alexander to the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Chris wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Chris pushes Alexander off and gets back to his feet.
Chris shoots in looking for a takedown. Alexander tries to sprawl out of it but Chris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alexander manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Chris moves into the clinch.
Alexander is trying to push Chris away but Chris has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Alexander is trying to break the clinch but Chris is controlling him.

Alexander seems to have got his legs back now.

Chris shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Alexander sprawls well. Alexander wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Chris gets slowly back to his feet.

and Chris counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chris.

Chris wants to take the fight to the mat but Alexander manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Alexander wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chris has him pressed against the cage.
Chris has Alexander pressed against the cage, preventing Alexander from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Chris is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Alexander pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Chris manages to break the clinch.
Chris tries a head kick but it misses.

Chris rushes Alexander and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Chris obliges.
Chris drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Chris should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Alexander tries to break free but Chris pushes him back against the cage.
Alexander is trying to break the clinch but Chris is controlling him.
Chris tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Alexander smiles and moves away.

Chris jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Alexander has a takedown stuffed.
Chris tries to counter with a clinch but Alexander shakes him off and moves away.

Chris pushes Alexander up against the cage in a clinch.

Chris manages to break the clinch.
Chris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Alexander counters with a lovely shot to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chris throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A counter left hand to the body from Alexander misses its target.
Alexander fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Chris misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Chris shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Alexander makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Chris looks winded!
Chris tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Alexander counters with a left to the body.
Chris has his takedown stuffed
and Alexander counters with a left and a right that stings Chris.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Chris dominated that round.

Alexander shoots in and bounces Chris off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Chris had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alexander defends it easily.

Chris lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Alexander looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chris is fending him off so far but Alexander persists. Nope, Chris circles away and we're back to standing.
And Chris tries to counter it with a takedown but Alexander pushes his down on his head and steps out.
John Chris seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Chris lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Alexander drives through and clinches with Chris against the cage.
A nice right hand lands inside from Alexander.
Chris blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Alexander wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Chris gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Alexander is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chris defends well.

Chris stands up from Alexander's guard - Chris perhaps looking for a knockout.
Chris throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Alexander misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Alexander defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Chris.
Alexander half committed to a counter leg kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Chris looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Chris goes for a double leg but Alexander avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Alexander continues to drive forward.

Alexander breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close second round but John Chris will probably get the nod - 10:9.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Alexander manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chris on his heels. He'll look to pass Chris's guard now, I'm sure.
Chris trying to keep a closed guard but Alexander is proving a slippery customer.
Chris is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Chris is looking for a triangle but Alexander pushes his legs off easily.

Alexander throws an elbow that misses. Chris uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Alexander's guard. Nice move by Chris!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alexander has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chris is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Alexander.

Chris decides to stand up, so the ref orders Alexander to his feet.
Alexander shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Chris sprawls well. Chris wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Alexander gets slowly back to his feet.

and Alexander counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Alexander feints and as Chris raises his hands in defense, Alexander changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Chris working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alexander doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alexander manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Chris wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Alexander manages to pass to side control.
Alexander working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Chris is looking to control Alexander's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chris avoid being mounted?
Chris on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Chris is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Chris is still trying to improve position.

Alexander is nestled in close to Chris, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Chris has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Alexander is working away from the top position though.

Chris wants to improve his position but Alexander is controlling well.
Alexander will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Alexander accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Douglas Alexander showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Chris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
