Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Victor VanPummel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Pochettino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pochettino looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

VanPummel circles away from the clinch attempt.
VanPummel tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
VanPummel tries to close the distance and clinch but Pochettino swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - VanPummel looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
VanPummel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pochettino. Pochettino circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Pochettino is rocked!

It looks like Matt Pochettino has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pochettino had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. VanPummel is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pochettino Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take VanPummel's back instead.
Pochettino is still in real trouble! Can VanPummel finish him?
VanPummel turns into Pochettino and is now in his guard.
Pochettino seems to have recovered his senses.

Pochettino escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. VanPummel gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

VanPummel wants to control from the top but Pochettino keeps moving.
VanPummel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pochettino working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. VanPummel doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. VanPummel manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

VanPummel shoots in looking for a takedown. Pochettino tries to sprawl out of it but VanPummel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pochettino manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pochettino decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
