Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gaudencio Roman (ranked 11858 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ace Rob (ranked 2329 p4p, 0 weight class). Ace Rob told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rob scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Gaudencio Roman has been cut.
Gaudencio Roman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Roman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Roman has closed the distance and engaged Rob in a clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rob looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Roman is trying to maintain the position but Rob is very close to passing his half guard.

Roman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rob gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rob is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Roman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rob tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Roman parries the strikes from Rob easily there. Rob is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Roman to escape.

My spies in Touch Of Death Combat Academy inform me that Rob has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Rob breaks from Roman's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Rob! Roman is hurt baaadly! Rob is firing away with more strikes - Roman is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
