Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angelo Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Souza has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julio Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Anderson! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Souza tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Anderson looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Souza is breathing heavily. Anderson controls from within his opponent's guard. Souza wants to stand but Anderson is controlling the position. Anderson controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Anderson is looking to work some ground and pound but Souza has wrist control. Anderson controlling from the top position. Anderson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Anderson controlling from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Anderson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Anderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Anderson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. I looks like Anderson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Despite being in the dominant position, Angelo Anderson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Souza moves in looking to clinch but Anderson pushes him off. Julio Souza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Souza walks into a left hand. Anderson lands a jab-cross combination. Souza takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Anderson moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. A chopping leg kick lands by Anderson. Anderson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anderson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Anderson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Souza avoids a punch combination nicely.
Anderson cracks the inside of Souza's front leg. Souza throws a combination that misses and Anderson counters with a single leg into guard. Souza didn't expect that. Souza wants to stand and escape but Anderson is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson connects with a couple of short punches. Anderson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Anderson stops Souza from standing up. Souza trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Anderson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Souza misses with a series of wild punches.
Anderson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Souza swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Anderson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Souza being controlled here, momentarily. Souza wants to stand but Anderson is controlling the position. Anderson controls from within his opponent's guard. Anderson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Anderson trying to control but Souza is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Angelo Anderson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Souza avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Souza stuffs the takedown. A combination from Souza does no damage. Anderson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Souza is pushing Anderson's head away, looking to escape. Anderson manages to hold on to the position though. Anderson staying calm. Anderson prevents Souza from escaping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Anderson in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Souza is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Anderson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Souza's legs.

A right-left combo lands from Anderson. Anderson loads up on a big right hand but Souza slips the punch. Souza throws a combination. Anderson tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Souza misses with a two punch combination.
Anderson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Souza misses with a double jab
and Anderson counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Souza! Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Souza is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Souza hang on? Anderson controlling the pace for now. Anderson putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Souza squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

and Anderson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Souza's knee momentarily. Anderson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Souza wants to get back to his feet but Anderson drags him back down. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Souza is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Souza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Anderson in side control, just content to control the action for now. Souza is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Anderson asserts his dominance and retains side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Anderson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Anderson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Souza is trying to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Anderson connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Souza momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Anderson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Anderson prevents Souza from standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Anderson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Anderson stops Souza from standing up. Anderson scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Anderson fails to land with a series of punches.
Anderson closes the distance and pushes Souza back into the cage. Anderson is looking to control Souza's arms but Souza gets an underhook and turns him. Now Anderson has his back to the cage. Souza wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Anderson has him pressed against the cage. Anderson prevents Souza from breaking the clinch. Souza wants to get back to striking at distance but Anderson won't allow it.
Souza has had enough of the clinch but Anderson keeps him there for the moment. Anderson breaks from the clinch.
Souza closes the distance looking to clinch and Anderson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Julio Souza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Anderson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Souza.
Anderson misses with a series of wild punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Angelo Anderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Anderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
