The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuronoa takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kuronoa darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
John ducks right into an uppercut from Kuronoa.
John avoids a punch combination nicely.
John connects with a high kick.
Kuronoa throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and John counters by moving into the clinch.
John is working Kuronoa over against the cage.
John blocks an uppercut.
John leaning his opponent against the cage.
Kuronoa tries a body shot but John blocks it.
John works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A head punch on the inside from Kuronoa fails to land.

Kuronoa lands a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

John is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kuronoa is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
