Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Porfirio Watson (ranked 25067 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyronne Lane (ranked 5736 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Lane - that will leave a mark!

Lane darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Watson is staying active underneath Lane, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watson is defending against the submission attempts here by Lane.
Lane is just content to waste time from the top position. Watson takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Watson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Lane is looking for a kimura but Watson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lane to get the leverage.
The fighters are battling for position here. Watson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Lane postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Watson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lane, into his guard.

Lane is working an open guard so Watson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Lane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Watson's guard.
Watson has control of Lane's left arm, preventing Lane from doing any damage.
Lane throws a strike but Watson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lane has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Watson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lane is stalling here. Watson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lane seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Watson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Lane wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Watson has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Lane's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Lane is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Watson!
