Rodriguez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alvarento is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Rodriguez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alvarento's back instead.
Rodriguez is throwing shots to the body but Alvarento manages to wriggle free. Rodriguez pounces on him again and ends up in Alvarento's guard.
