PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Synyx Dall (ranked 612 p4p, 80 weight class) and Diego Hageman (ranked 2145 p4p, 237 weight class). Dall comes into the arena with In Scarlet Storm blaring out of the sound system. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dall lands a head shot.
Dall throws a sloppy head kick and Hageman moves out of range easily.
Hageman throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hageman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dall.
Dall scores with a jab to the head.
Hageman moves out of range of the body kick.
Dall tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Dall uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hageman has time to react.

Hageman raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Hageman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dall dives in for a single leg takedown but Hageman sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dall.
Dall misses with a wild body shot.
Dall bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hageman's head.

Dall throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Hageman wants to clinch up but Dall keeps it at a distance.

Dall closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hageman quickly recovers to half guard.

Dall throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hageman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dall is in Hageman's guard.
Dall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Dall is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hageman is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hageman wants to control but Dall postures up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dall throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hageman sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hageman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dall lands a nice looking body shot.
Hageman loads up on a big right hand but Dall slips the punch.
Dall throws a lazy right hand but Hageman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hageman throws a head kick that misses.
Dall changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dall tries to score with a low kick but Hageman moves his leg out of the way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dall is looking to chop away at Hageman's legs.
Dall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hageman can do to turn this around?
Dall feints and then cracks Hageman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hageman down.

Dall is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Dall throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dall. Hageman does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hageman tries a quick counter leg kick but Dall is wise to it.

Hageman tries to close the distance and clinch but Dall swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dall fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hageman manages to avoid it.
Nice straight punches there by Dall. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Dall.
Diego Hageman is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hageman turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Hageman tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Dall sizes up Hageman with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Synyx Dall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hageman drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Dall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hageman is fending him off so far but Dall persists. Nope, Hageman circles away and we're back to standing.

Dall closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hageman's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hageman tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hageman wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Dall seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Hageman is tapping! Wow, great finish!
