Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oskars Gramaliauskas (ranked 5030 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yousri Hlali (ranked 4568 p4p, 0 weight class). Yousri Hlali is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Oskars Gramaliauskas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Yousri Hlali!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hlali lands a nice shot to the body.
Gramaliauskas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hlali defends it nicely.
Hlali misses with a takedown attempt - Gramaliauskas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
No luck for Hlali with that takedown attempt.

Gramaliauskas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gramaliauskas tries to free his leg and advance position but Hlali is retaining full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hlali tries to kick Gramaliauskas off but Gramaliauskas keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gramaliauskas thows a huge punch but Hlali dodges it nicely.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gramaliauskas circles away from the clinch attempt
and Gramaliauskas counters with a three punch combo that has Hlali backing up. Hlali nods at Gramaliauskas to acknowledge the strikes.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hlali.
Oskars Gramaliauskas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Yousri Hlali.

Gramaliauskas closes the distance and pushes Hlali back into the cage.
Hlali has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gramaliauskas is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Hlali throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Hlali is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gramaliauskas gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Hlali avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hlali won't allow Gramaliauskas to get back to his feet.
Hlali wants to pass the guard but Gramaliauskas is keeping the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gramaliauskas is adopting a defensive guard.
Hlali trying to control the position from guard on top but Gramaliauskas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hlali accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hlali wants to clinch
and Gramaliauskas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gramaliauskas shoots for a takedown but Hlali saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Gramaliauskas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Gramaliauskas has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hlali is trying to keep an underhook but Gramaliauskas manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Gramaliauskas is taking a breather. Hlali says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gramaliauskas is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hlali can do to turn this around?

Gramaliauskas is nestled in close to Hlali, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hlali wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Gramaliauskas seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Hlali is tapping! Wow, great finish!
