The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Sanchez.

Sanchez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Coleman tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sanchez is looking to work some ground and pound but Coleman has wrist control.

Sanchez gets to his feet. Coleman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Erick Coleman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Coleman dodges the punch combination from Sanchez.
Coleman is looking to land body kicks.
Sanchez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Coleman backs up against the cage.

Sanchez instigates a clinch.
Sanchez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Coleman.
Coleman can't get the takedown.

Sanchez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sanchez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Coleman swivels and escapes.
Coleman throws a body kick that misses.
Coleman moves out of range of the body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dirty Sanchez dominated that round.

and Sanchez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Coleman's guard now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Coleman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sanchez kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sanchez takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Coleman lands a decent elbow from side control.

Sanchez is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Coleman is controlling him well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Coleman tries to move to mount but Sanchez blocks the move with his legs.
