Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Samual Marquez (ranked 5850 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Holzinger (ranked 5739 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samual Marquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Holzinger!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Holzinger moves into range and clinches up with Marquez.

Marquez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Marquez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Holzinger stacks Marquez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Holzinger!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Samual Marquez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Samual Marquez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Holzinger is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Marquez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Marquez misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Poor strikes thrown by Marquez there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Holzinger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Holzinger looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Marquez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Holzinger gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Holzinger wants to take a breather but Marquez is having none of it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Marquez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Holzinger escapes and throws Marquez's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Holzinger is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Marquez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Holzinger tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Holzinger has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Marquez is not content to let Holzinger control the position.

Holzinger decides to stand back up. Holzinger steps back and let's Marquez get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Andrew Holzinger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Marquez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
