The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Duffy quickly recovers to half guard.

Duffy kicks Brown off and gets back to his feet.
Duffy doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Brown holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Duffy connects with a nasty looking knee right to Brown's face.

It looks like Joseph Brown has been cut.
Brown just leaning against Duffy, taking a breather.
Brown is trying to maintain a safe position but Duffy gets an underhook and turns Brown into the cage.
Duffy is trying to force a seperation but Brown has the dominant position.
A nice right hand lands inside from Brown.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Duffy breaks the clinch.

Brown drives through and clinches with Duffy against the cage.
Duffy drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Duffy wants to break the clinch but can't.

Duffy controlling the action here for a moment.
A frustrated look appears on Duffy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Duffy tries to break free but Brown pushes him back against the cage.
Duffy stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Brown jumps guard.
Brown tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Duffy wants to stand but Brown is controlling his posture from full guard.
Duffy trying to control but Brown is working from the bottom.
Duffy is looking to work some ground and pound but Brown has wrist control.
Duffy throws a strike but Brown rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown stands up over Duffy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

It looks like Levi Duffy has been cut.
Brown postures up and lands a big shot to Duffy's brow.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Brown working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Brown connects with a couple of short punches.
Brown stands up over Duffy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Duffy seems keen to control Brown's posture.
Duffy is breathing heavily.
Brown sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Duffy is trying to control the position but Brown postures up.
Duffy could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Duffy utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Brown lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Brown seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Duffy is rocked!

Levi Duffy's cut is getting worse.
Brown loads up on a big left hand. Duffy felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Brown looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Duffy can't hide his disappointment, as Brown celebrates the victory.
