Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marvin Vaughn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andres Alonso Uray!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaughn takes a kick to the side of the head.
Uray throws a lazy body kick

and Vaughn counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Vaughn has Uray pressed against the cage, preventing Uray from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Vaughn is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Uray gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Vaughn decides to pull guard.
Vaughn has a closed guard, preventing Uray from standing up.
Uray wants to stand and escape but instead Vaughn has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Uray throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Uray trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Uray is striking from the bottom but Vaughn uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Uray is trying to stand up here but Vaughn is controlling him well.

Vaughn is working for a kimura but Uray is defending it quite comfortably.

Uray is trying to control but can't.
Uray is looking to escape.
Vaughn landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Uray tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Vaughn prevents Uray from improving his position.
Uray is trying to stand.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Uray is looking to get back to is feet but Vaughn passes into side control.

Vaughn decides to stand back up.
No luck for Vaughn with that takedown attempt.
Uray throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Vaughn keeps the fight on the outside.

Uray swings wildly with an uppercut but Vaughn uses good head movement to avoid it.

Vaughn has hold of one of Uray's legs. Uray is fighting the takedown attempt but Vaughn gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Uray is wriggling around but Vaughn manages to pass to half guard.

Uray is looking for a sweep. Vaughn is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Uray can do anything to dispel that myth.
Vaughn is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Uray is looking to escape.
Vaughn wants to take a breather but Uray is having none of it.
Uray wants to get back to his feet.
Uray looks winded!
Vaughn blocks the strikes from Uray.

Vaughn is working for a kimura but Uray is defending it quite comfortably.

Vaughn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Uray is trying to control but Vaughn passes into side control!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Uray is trying to work for a sweep but Vaughn has mounted him!

Vaughn stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vaughn tries to clinch but Uray is having none of it.

Vaughn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Uray is trying to defend but Vaughn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Uray pushes Vaughn off but Vaughn dives into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marvin Vaughn dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Vaughn dives in for a single leg takedown but Uray sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Uray throws a big counter head kick but Vaughn avoids it with no problem.
Uray tries to clinch but Vaughn is having none of it.
Uray lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Andres Alonso Uray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uray throws a sloppy head kick and Vaughn moves out of range easily.
Nice body kick from Uray.
Uray throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Marvin Vaughn has been cut.
Uray tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vaughn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A head kick from Uray lands but Vaughn takes it in his stride.
Uray pushes Vaughn away with a front kick.
Uray is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Uray misses with a head kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vaughn avoids the head kick by Uray.
Vaughn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Uray is breathing heavily.

Vaughn checks the leg kick nicely there.
Uray swats away the attempt to clinch by Vaughn.
Vaughn tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Uray defends well and Vaughn ends up having to push Uray into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marvin Vaughn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Uray pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Uray tries to get set, Vaughn tries to push him back and clinch up but Uray manages to avoid the attempt.
Vaughn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Vaughn moves into the clinch successfully.
Vaughn blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Uray prevents Vaughn from breaking the clinch.
Uray is looking to break free of the clinch but Vaughn has double underhooks.

Vaughn wants the takedown. Uray is fighting it off but Vaughn persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Uray's guard against the cage.
Uray is looking to stand back up but Vaughn counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Uray.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Vaughn stops Uray from getting back to his feet.
Uray is trying to control but Vaughn passes into side control!
Vaughn trying to control the action but Uray is working from the bottom.

Vaughn decides to stand back up. Vaughn steps back and let's Uray get back to his feet.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Uray.
As Uray tries to get set, Vaughn tries to push him back and clinch up but Uray manages to avoid the attempt.

Vaughn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Uray tries to break free but Vaughn pushes him back against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vaughn is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Uray pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Uray tries to land knees in the clinch but Vaughn avoids the damage to the body.
Uray misses with a short punch on the inside.
Vaughn blocking some punches.
Vaughn drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Vaughn is trying to drag Uray to the mat but Uray just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Vaughn tightens his grip and picks Uray up, before dumping him to the ground. Uray manages to land in guard.
Uray is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vaughn is controlling him.
Vaughn slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Uray.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Vaughn stands up and beckons Uray to join him on the feet.
Vaughn takes a kick to the side of the head.

Uray tries to sprawl but Vaughn drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Uray tries to kick Vaughn off in order to stand up. Vaughn Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Uray trying to remain calm as Vaughn controls from the top position.
Uray wants to get back to his feet but Vaughn is dominant here and he's now got Uray's back!

Uray is looking to escape but he's done so without protecting himself and Vaughn manages to counter with a nice rear naked choke! Uray is in trouble and he's forced to tap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Marvin Vaughn!
