Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Ciprianni (ranked 4284 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monsun Moon (ranked 4640 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Ciprianni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Monsun Moon!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moon scores with a jab to the head.
Moon throws a looping overhand right but Ciprianni ducks down to avoid it.
Moon drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ciprianni jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Ciprianni lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Moon throws a body punch but Ciprianni moves out of range.
Moon moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Moon throws a body punch but Ciprianni moves out of range.

Ciprianni fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Moon, pushing him back against the cage.
Ciprianni misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Moon misses with a body punch.
Moon is pushing Ciprianni up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Moon tries to throw a body punch but Ciprianni avoids it by throwing Moon back against the cage.

Ciprianni is trying to trip Moon. He has hold of a leg but Moon is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ciprianni persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ciprianni postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Moon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ciprianni, into his guard.

Moon is looking to work some ground and pound but Ciprianni has wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moon looking to sit in guard and control but Ciprianni gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Ciprianni stays in close to Moon's body and controls the position.
Ciprianni trying to control but Moon is working from the bottom.
Ciprianni controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Moon is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Ciprianni pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Moon is keeping the position for now.
Ciprianni controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Moon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ciprianni is aware though and is defending well.

Ciprianni tries to free his leg and advance position but Moon is retaining full guard.
Moon wants to sweep but no luck.
Ciprianni trying to control the position from guard on top but Moon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ciprianni wants to control from the top but Moon keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Moon slips under a jab.
Nice sprawl there from Ciprianni as Moon shoots in.
Moon misses with a series of wild punches.
Moon closes the distance and clinches up with Ciprianni, looking for a takedown. Moon pushes Ciprianni against the cage but Ciprianni circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ciprianni moves out of range of the strikes.
Ciprianni's jab looks to have found its range, popping Moon under the eye.
Monsun Moon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moon lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Ciprianni uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Moon.
Moon misses with a left hand

and Ciprianni decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Moon's guard.
Moon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Moon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ciprianni defends it easily.
Ciprianni wants to control from the top but Moon keeps moving.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ciprianni stuffs the takedown.
Ciprianni tries to counter with a takedown but Moon is quick to defend against it.
Moon lands with a hook. Ciprianni tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Ciprianni moves away from the strike by Moon.
Moon tries a head kick but it misses.
Ciprianni appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Ciprianni stuffs the takedown.
Ciprianni lands with an overhand left.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Moon.
Ciprianni drops down looking for a counter takedown but Moon sprawls and moves away.
Danny Ciprianni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Monsun Moon.
Moon slips a straight right by Ciprianni.
Ciprianni displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Moon throws out the jab.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Danny Ciprianni overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ciprianni wants to control but Moon is keeping him busy.
Ciprianni is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Moon can do to turn this around?

Ciprianni takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Ciprianni's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ciprianni is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Moon sizes up Ciprianni with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Moon cracks Ciprianni with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Moon fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Moon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Danny Ciprianni will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Moon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ciprianni circles away quickly and effectively.
Moon shoots in but Ciprianni avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Moon closes the distance and clinches up with Ciprianni, looking for a takedown. Moon pushes Ciprianni against the cage but Ciprianni circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Ciprianni shoots in for a takedown but Moon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A nice side step and Moon releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Moon is looking to advance position but Ciprianni won't allow it.

Moon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Moon is stalling here. Ciprianni is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Moon seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ciprianni has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Danny Ciprianni is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Moon tries to bench press Ciprianni off him but Ciprianni keeps the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Ciprianni tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ciprianni remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Moon is not content to let Ciprianni control the position.

Ciprianni is looking to take a break and control but Moon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee asks Ciprianni politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Ciprianni prefers to stall for the moment though.
Moon manages to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ciprianni is thwarting Moon's attempts to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Moon goes for a double leg but Ciprianni avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ciprianni continues to drive forward.
Danny Ciprianni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Monsun Moon.
Ciprianni moves out of range of the strikes.
Ciprianni throws a hook to the side of Moon's head but Moon sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Moon cracks Ciprianni with a right hand to the side of the head.
A bone on bone clash there as Ciprianni blocks the leg kick.
Monsun Moon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Moon throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Moon shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Ciprianni changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Monsun Moon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ciprianni has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
