PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Miller (ranked 5661 p4p, 529 weight class) and Randy Savage (ranked 8691 p4p, 637 weight class). Savage has chosen Pomp & Circumstance as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeff Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Savage!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller misses with the combination.
Savage swats away the attempt to clinch by Miller.
Miller shoots in for a takedown but Savage shows good takedown defense.

Miller throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Savage tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Miller is in Savage's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Jeff Miller will probably get the nod.

Miller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Savage tries to avoid it but Miller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Savage to the ground. Savage escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We've been informed that Savage has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Savage has his hands on Miller's head, controlling the position.
Miller not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

We've been hearing good reports from Miller's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Miller dives in and grabs Savage's left leg, looking for a takedown. Savage pushes down on Miller's head and hops out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Miller isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Savage stacks Miller on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Savage!

Miller has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Savage escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Savage!
