Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shannon White (ranked 6479 p4p, 583 weight class) and Power Max (ranked 24747 p4p, 710 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shannon White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Power Max!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max circles away from the clinch attempt

and Max counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Max.

White isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Max stacks White on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Max!
Max moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
White tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White is working to avoid the ground and pound but Max connects with a decent elbow.
Max looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
White is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Max lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White tries to get to full guard but Max has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Max is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
White wants to get back to full guard.
White tries to kick Max off but Max keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
White is not content to let Max control the position.
White is trying to get back to full guard.

White looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

White is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Max pulls his head out easily.
Max performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Max passes to full mount!
White is in all sorts of trouble here.

Max wants to finish this one by submission but White is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Max.
White is working to get back to half guard.
White is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Stark Combat Center, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
White bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Max doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Max controls White momentarily but White frees himself.
Max keeping moving, preventing White from controlling successfully.

Max throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Max trying to keep a closed guard but White is proving a slippery customer.
White wants to control from the top but Max keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
White wants to pass the guard but Max is keeping the position.
White trying to control but Max is working from the bottom.
Max wants to sweep but no luck.
Max controls White momentarily but White frees himself.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
White throws out a loose jab but Max uses good head movement to avoid it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

White fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Max, pushing him back against the cage.
White looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
White is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Max pulls him back up using the underhooks.
White tries to throw a body punch but Max avoids it by throwing White back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Power Max will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Max closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. White did well to prevent Max getting side control.
White is looking to get back to is feet but Max passes into side control.

Max wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by White, who protects the arm well.
White gets back to half guard.
Max wants to control but White is keeping him busy.
White wants to get back to full guard but Max has passed into side control.

Max creates some space and throws a big elbow, but White sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

White sneaks back into half guard.
White tries to get to full guard but Max has control of the leg.
Max is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
White tries to roll over but Max keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

White actively working from the bottom here.
White is trying to stand.

Max thows an elbow strike that misses. White gets hold of full guard and has managed to get a loose guillotine attempt. Max doesn't seem too bothered but White quickly shifts his position and has tightened the hold! Max is in big trouble now - he's going a funny colour - he's tapping out! Nice finish there! Max really should have spotted the danger earlier though... either incompetence or over-confidence has resulted in a big L on his record.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Shannon White!
Shannon White seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
