Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roan Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Johnson. No joy for Gracie on that attempt.
Gracie looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Johnson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Gracie is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Oh Gracie is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Gracie seems to have got his legs back now.
Gracie wants to get back to full guard.

Johnson is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Gracie has managed to free his arm - good work.

Johnson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Johnson.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Johnson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Johnson's back!
I really don't envy Johnson right now.

Gracie is looking for a choke. Johnson gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Johnson manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Johnson connects with a crisp jab.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Johnson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gracie isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Johnson stacks Gracie on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Johnson!

I really don't envy Gracie right now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnson is trying to stick to Gracie's back but Gracie is turning into Johnson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Johnson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Gracie.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johnson is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Gracie pulls his head out easily.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gracie fails with the takedown

Gracie tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Johnson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Johnson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gracie has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie is desperately trying to improve his position but Johnson has a good base and remains in mount.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gracie sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Gracie tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.

Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gracie is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Johnson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Johnson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Johnson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Roan Gracie has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Luke Johnson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Gracie closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Luke Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
