Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Cote (ranked 4871 p4p, 0 weight class) and Test Three (ranked 4336 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Cote!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Test Three!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cote takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Three misses with a wild combination.
Three works over Cote's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Kevin Cote has been cut.
Cote stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Three punishes Cote's body with a nice straight punch.
Three tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cote paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cote gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Three.
Three cracks Cote with a good jab.
Three displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cote.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Three gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Three lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Three.
A short right from Three on the inside.
Three lands a nice uppercut.
Three lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Three lands a right hand that snaps the head of Cote backwards.
Three has Cote pushed against the cage.
Cote tries to score a body lock takedown but Three shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Three stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Three is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Cote breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Three catches Cote with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Three feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cotes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Three dips to his left and cracks Cote with an uppercut!
Three lands an overhand right.
A shot to the liver by Three. Beautiful body shot.

Cote drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cote stays in close to Three's body and controls the position.
Cote trying to control the position from guard on top but Three is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cote showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Three tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Three looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cote passes Three's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Three is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cote scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Three wants to control but Cote is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Cote with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Cote is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cote is controlling the pace.
Three wants to improve his position but Cote is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Test Three dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kevin Cote's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Three swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cote.
Three cracks a nice hook into Cote's ribs.
Cote gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Three.
Three bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cote's head backwards.
Cote closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Cote misses with a takedown attempt
and Three counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
We've been informed that Three has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Three misses with a double jab.

Cote closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Three to the mat! Three manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cote is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Three working a defensive guard here.

Three escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cote gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Cote throwing strikes from guard but Three blocks nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cote pushing down on Three's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Three wants to get back to full guard but Cote has passed into side control.
Cote taking a breather here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cote cracks Three with a big right hand but Three just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Three has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Cote looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Cote tries for a kimura but Three is defending well.
Cote trying to control the action but Three is working from the bottom.

Cote content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Three controls the position for a moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Three can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee asks Cote politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cote prefers to stall for the moment though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Three tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Three stuck in half guard on the bottom here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cote closes the distance and clinches up with Three, looking for a takedown. Cote pushes Three against the cage but Three circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Three wants to counter with a clinch but Cote pushes him away.
Cote takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Test Three will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Three throws a right and a left that Cote avoids nicely.
As Three tries to get set, Cote tries to push him back and clinch up but Three manages to avoid the attempt.
Three misses with a two punch combination.
Three connects with a good right hand that stumbles Cote. Cote circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Three scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cote in his tracks.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Three has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Three cracks Cote with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Cote looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Three paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Cote looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Three lands a jab to the head.
Cote gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cote looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
A left lands for Three.
Three lands with a nice combination. Cote backs away looking to recover.

Cote changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Three looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Three tries to bench press Cote off him but Cote keeps the position.

Cote controlling the position from side mount.
Three tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Cote wants to lay and pray for a moment but Three keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cote slows the pace down.

Cote tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cote has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Three tries to bench press Cote off him but Cote keeps the position.
Kevin Cote overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cote lands an elbow.
Three wants to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cote is looking to take a break and control but Three is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cote looks up at the clock and then as Three takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cote smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Test Three is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Cote remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Three wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Cote lands a decent elbow from side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Test Three comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Three winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
