Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max Luther (ranked 2438 p4p, 285 weight class) and Bob Madden (ranked 2391 p4p, 279 weight class). Luther comes to the cage accompanied by Hokuto No Ken - You Wa Shock. Max Luther could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Bob Madden's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madden throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Luther gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madden to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Luther wants to stand but Madden is controlling the position.
Madden advances position into side control!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Luther is trying to buck Madden off.
Madden scores with a couple of short elbows.

Luther bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Madden closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee asks Madden politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Madden prefers to stall for the moment though.
Luther knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Madden on the ground.
Let's hope that Madden has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Luther is working to avoid the ground and pound but Madden connects with a decent elbow.
