Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Bradley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petri Pakkanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bradley comes into the arena with Rule Britannia blaring out of the sound system. Pakkanen has chosen Loost Koos - Pakkasta as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Bradley!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Petri Pakkanen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pakkanen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bradley swivels and escapes.
Bradley tries to clinch there but Pakkanen circles away.
Bradley checks a leg kick.
Pakkanen walks into a stiff left hand from Bradley.
Pakkanen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bradley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Pakkanen on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Pakkanen fails with the takedown.
Paul Bradley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Petri Pakkanen.
Bradley missing with a left hand there. Pakkanen was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bradley throws an overhand right that lands on Pakkanen's shoulder, as Pakkanen tries to avoid the shot.

Pakkanen wants to control from the top but Bradley keeps moving.

Bradley pushes Pakkanen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Pakkanen fails with a takedown attempt.

Pakkanen drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Pakkanen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Bradley tries to escape but Pakkanen is in control.
Bradley tries to improve position but can't.
Pakkanen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Bradley sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Bradley is trying to buck Pakkanen off.

Pakkanen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Pakkanen prevents Bradley from escaping the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Paul Bradley will probably get the nod.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bradley tries to clinch but Pakkanen is having none of it.
Nice uppercut lands for Bradley. That snapped Pakkanen's head back.
Bradley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bradley swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pakkanen.
Pakkanen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bradley but Bradley pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Bradley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bradley throws a jab when Pakkanen was well out of range.
Bradley connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pakkanen fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bradley throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Pakkanen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bradley but Bradley pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bradley swings for the body but Pakkanen moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bradley's corner calls for a 1-2. Bradley obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Pakkanen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Bradley scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Pakkanen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

No joy there for Bradley, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Bradley throws a series of punches but Pakkanen avoids them all with ease.
Bradley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pakkanen paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bradley throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Pakkanen tumbling to the canvas!

Bradley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Bradley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Bradley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pakkanen circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bradley tries to land a front kick but Pakkanen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bradley throws a right and a left that Pakkanen avoids nicely.
Pakkanen throws a leg kick that misses.
Pakkanen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bradley's waist but Bradley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pakkanen off to one side.
Pakkanen shoots in but Bradley avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Pakkanen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Paul Bradley.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bradley, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
