Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Osama Akharraz (ranked 2973 p4p, 385 weight class) and Anthony Rodgers (ranked 2710 p4p, 354 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Rodgers!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rodgers throws a jab when Akharraz was well out of range.
Rodgers connects with a nice looking jab.
Akharraz uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rodgers.
Rodgers throws a hook but Akharraz blocks it.
Rodgers swats away the attempt to clinch by Akharraz.
Rodgers cracks Akharraz with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Rodgers throws a hook but Akharraz avoids it easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rodgers has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Rodgers misses with an uppercut
and Akharraz makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Rodgers bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Akharraz's head backwards.
Anthony Rodgers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rodgers throws a hook to the side of Akharraz's head but Akharraz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rodgers keeps the fight on the outside.
Rodgers appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

Akharraz keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rodgers.
Akharraz was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Rodgers misses with a wild body shot.
Donk. Rodgers catches Akharraz right on the button with a cross.
Rodgers throws a hook to the side of Akharraz's head but Akharraz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rodgers misses with a looping right.
Akharraz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Rodgers throws a lazy right hand but Akharraz sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rodgers rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Akharraz counters with a straight right hand.
Rodgers connects with a nice looking jab.
Akharraz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rodgers stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rodgers is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Akharraz.
Akharraz throws a big counter combination but Rodgers scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Rodgers thows a left - swing and a miss!
Akharraz appears to be looking for a big counter.
Akharraz works the jab nicely.
It looks like Anthony Rodgers has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Akharraz ducks under a wild hook from Rodgers.

Rodgers throws a hook but Akharraz blocks it.
Akharraz slips under a jab.
Rodgers feints a jab promting Akharraz to slip. Rodgers then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Akharraz slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Akharraz moves into range and connects with a jab.
Rodgers missing with a left hand there. Akharraz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rodgers lands with a right hand.
Rodgers throws a sloppy head kick and Akharraz moves out of range easily.
Rodgers is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Akharraz.
Rodgers misses with a body punch
and Akharraz counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Rodgers badly! Akharraz follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Rodgers out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Akharraz finished him against the cage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Osama Akharraz!
