Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bashaad Al Hammad (ranked 22312 p4p, 592 weight class) and Tim Winkle (ranked 23596 p4p, 596 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bashaad Al Hammad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Winkle!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winkle tries to close the distance and clinch but Al Hammad swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Winkle shoots in looking for a takedown. Al Hammad tries to sprawl out of it but Winkle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Al Hammad manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Al Hammad decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Winkle's guard.
Al Hammad lands a couple of elbows.
Al Hammad stays in close to Winkle's body and controls the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Al Hammad stands up over Winkle, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Winkle is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Al Hammad drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Al Hammad throws a strike aimed at the side of Winkle's head but Winkle avoids it well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Winkle is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Al Hammad scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Winkle to see if he's OK.
Al Hammad looks up at the clock and then as Winkle takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Al Hammad smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Al Hammad's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Al Hammad is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Winkle will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Winkle tries to improve position but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Al Hammad creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bashaad Al Hammad dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Al Hammad closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Winkle did well to prevent Al Hammad getting side control.
Al Hammad seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Al Hammad is taking a breather. Winkle says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Al Hammad lands a nice short elbow.

Al Hammad looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Winkle with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al Hammad is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Winkle is hurt! He's hurt bad - Al Hammad fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Winkle from any more punishment! Congratulations to Al Hammad! Great finish!
