Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ghost Lightning (ranked 1551 p4p, 169 weight class) and Sage Sabin (ranked 4263 p4p, 440 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sabin's choice of entrance music: Supersonic - Oasis. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ghost Lightning!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sage Sabin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabin takes a swing at Lightning's ribcage but misses.
Sabin takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Lightning scores with a jab to the jaw.
Sabin misses with a body kick.
As Sabin backs away, Lightning returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Lightning rushes Sabin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sabin can't break the clinch.
Sabin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lightning swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sabin misses with a lunging right hand
and Lightning cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Lightning fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sabin throws a predictable looking body shot
and Lightning counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sabin looks to land a combination. Lightning sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sabin throws a body punch but Lightning moves out of range.
Lightning is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sabin.
Sabin is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Lightning with a body shot.
Lightning swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sabin.
Sabin looks to throw a body kick
letting Lightning counter with a right hand.
Lightning is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Sabin throws a lazy head kick
and Lightning counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Lightning throws a body punch but Sabin moves out of range.
Sabin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lightning tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Sabin manages to circle out of the way.
Lightning keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sabin.
Lightning moves out of range of the leg kick from Sabin.
Lightning tries to counter by clinching up but Sabin breaks away and moves out of range.
We've been told by Lightning's head coaches at Heart Cave (8 elites, 4 double-elites, 1 triple) that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Sabin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Lightning counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Lightning is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lightning lands a big uppercut and Sabin crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Sabin looks OK. Lightning waves Sabin back to his feet!
Sabin is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lightning batters Sabin with a massive right followed by a huge left! Sabin is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Lightning lands a final crushing right hand to drop Sabin to the mat with a gruesome thud! Lightning is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ghost Lightning!
