And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryusuke Akabane!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akabane closes the distance and clinches.

Wood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

A quick step to the side and Wood tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wood changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Akabane tries to avoid it but Wood manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Akabane to the ground. Akabane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Akabane dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Wood. That did some damage!
Akabane fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wood avoids it really well and circles away.

Well Akabane has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
