Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doyle Brunson (ranked 323 p4p, 28 weight class) and Maxim Bok (ranked 776 p4p, 74 weight class). Bok has chosen Give It Revolution as his entrance music. Maxim Bok has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maxim Bok!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bok swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Brunson forces Bok back against the cage and clinches.

Bok manages to break the clinch.
Brunson lands a slapping body shot.
A jab from Bok misses.
Brunson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Brunson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bok jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Brunson is looking to counter with head kicks.

It looks like Maxim Bok has been cut.
Bok missing with a left hand there. Brunson was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Bok has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Bok drops Brunson with a nice combination! Bok dives into Brunson's guard, looking to finish!

It looks like Doyle Brunson has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brunson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Bok drops back looking for a leg! Brunson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Brunson manages to kick Bok off! Bok jumps back into Brunson's guard.
Brunson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brunson tries to get out of the position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bok tries to free his leg and advance position but Brunson is retaining full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Brunson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bok looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

That has opened up Maxim Bok's cut even more.
Bok fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brunson manages to avoid it.

Bok throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bok doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brunson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bok thinking.
Brunson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Bok misses with a looping left.

Brunson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bok misses with a short punch on the inside.
Brunson misses with a body punch.

Bok breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brunson jabs Bok to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Bok circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bok with the counter takedown but Brunson avoids it easily.
Nice sprawl there from Brunson as Bok shoots in.
A little feinted left hand from Brunson on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Brunson cracks Bok with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


The cut above Maxim Bok's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Brunson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bok.
Brunson is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Bok.
Brunson misses with a wild body shot.
Brunson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Brunson moves into range and clinches up with Bok.
Bok lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bok swings wildly with an uppercut but Brunson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brunson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bok misses with some punches.
Bok misses with a shot to the kidneys.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bok tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Bok tries to pull guard but Brunson holds him up against the cage and eventually Bok drops back down to his feet.
Doyle Brunson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Bok.
Bok stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Bok misses with a short punch on the inside.
Bok drops down looking for an ankle pick but Brunson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Brunson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Brunson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Doyle Brunson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Back to the action!


Bok shoots in for a takedown but Brunson shows good takedown defense.
Bok looks to land a left hand but Brunson moved out of range nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Brunson misses the target.
Bok keeps the fight on the outside.
Brunson connects with a jab.
Bok throws a sloppy body shot
and Brunson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Maxim Bok's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Brunson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bok avoids the body shot from Brunson.
Bok keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brunson punishes Bok's body with a nice straight punch.

A bit of a lull in the action here.
Bok is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Brunson prevents Bok from moving into mount.
Brunson tries to buck Bok off but Bok is having none of it.
Bok tries to move to mount but Brunson blocks the move with his legs.
Brunson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bok tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bok has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Bok manages to reverse the position and now he's in Brunson's guard. Nice work there by Bok.
Brunson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bok on the ground.

Bok stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brunson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A close second round but Maxim Bok will probably get the nod - 10:9.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Bok throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bok cracks Brunson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Bok shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bok showed some decent athleticism there.
Brunson is trying to maintain the position but Bok is very close to passing his half guard.

Brunson is defending against the submission attempts here by Bok.

Bok is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Bok postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Bok throws out a loose jab but Brunson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bok connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Bok throws a shot from downtown. Brunson moves away and avoids it.
A telegraphed right hand from Bok misses the target.
Bok jabbing away but nothing is landing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bok throws a body shot but no joy.
A head kick by Brunson misses
and Bok connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bok stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maxim Bok comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bok has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
