Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Blackwell (ranked 25773 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aston Brown (ranked 6001 p4p, 0 weight class). Aston Brown will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blackwell moves into range and clinches up with Brown.

Brown drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Brown working a defensive guard here.
Brown doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Blackwell is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Blackwell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Brown wants to sweep here but Blackwell controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blackwell trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blackwell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Blackwell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Blackwell lands a couple of elbows.
Blackwell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Blackwell postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Blackwell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Blackwell has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Blackwell wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Blackwell doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Blackwell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Brown but Brown pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Brown thuds his shin into the meat of Blackwell's side.
Brown moves out of range of the body kick.

Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Brown shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Blackwell defends it nicely.
As Brown looks to move away, Blackwell throws a big counter combo but Brown just gets out of the way.
Aston Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown has managed to clinch.

Brown jumps guard.
Blackwell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Blackwell stands up over Brown, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Blackwell scoring with punches to the head and body.
Blackwell wants to control from the top but Brown keeps moving.
Brown thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Blackwell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown wants to control but Blackwell passes easily into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Blackwell lands with a punch from half guard.

Brown is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Blackwell has latched onto it... Big trouble! Blackwell pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Brown is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Blackwell!
