The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman throws a one two combo.
Chapman tries to bum rush Mahelona with a series of wild strikes but Mahelona uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
It seemed like Mahelona was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Chapman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chapman ducks under a wild hook from Mahelona.
Mahelona swings for the body but Chapman moves out of range.
Chapman avoids the body shot from Mahelona.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mahelona, as that shot connected.

Mahelona keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Chapman misses with a series of wild punches.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chapman feints a jab promting Mahelona to slip. Chapman then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mahelona slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Chapman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mahelona throws out the jab.
Chapman goes for a double leg but Mahelona avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mahelona continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Timothy Chapman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
