The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes throws a lazy head kick

and Lee counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Lee is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lee prevents Hughes from improving his position.
Hughes is pressing down on Lee's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Hughes is looking for a triangle here but Lee uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hughes is working to avoid the ground and pound but Lee connects with a decent elbow.

Hughes is rocked!
Lee controls the position.
Hughes prevents Lee from moving into mount.

Lee laying and praying for a moment but Hughes takes advantage and regains half guard.
Lee winds up and cracks Hughes with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Oh Hughes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lee is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Hughes is hurt! He's hurt bad - Lee fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Hughes from any more punishment! Congratulations to Lee! Great finish!
