Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tobias Funke (ranked 5874 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Perez (ranked 24985 p4p, 0 weight class). Pedro Perez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Funke half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Funke moves into the clinch.
Perez tries for a takedown but Funke manages to get underhooks.

Funke manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Funke has Perez pulled in close to control his posture.
Funke not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Perez has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Combat Center. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Perez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Perez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Funke is keeping the position for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez distracts Funke with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Perez is fighting to break Funke's control of his arms but Funke is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Perez trying to control the position from guard on top but Funke is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Funke is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Perez passes into half guard.
Funke wants to improve his position but Perez is controlling well.
Funke tries to kick Perez off in order to stand up. Perez Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Perez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Perez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Perez is working to tighten his grip on Funke's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Funke has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Perez is really squeezing tight and eventually Funke passes out! Perez breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
