Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hudson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jones pushes Hudson off but Hudson dives into side control.
Hudson landing a few strikes.
Jones pushes Hudson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Hudson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Hudson stands up and beckons Jones to his feet.

Jones has Hudson up against the cage in a clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Jones is trying to break free.
Hudson gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.

Jones is trying to pull guard but Hudson turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Hudson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hudson pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Quinton Hudson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bowa Jones.

Jones jumps guard but Hudson stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jones jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hudson walks away with a smile on his face. Jones gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hudson lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jones.
Jones looks winded!

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Hudson.
Hudson stalls.
A bit of stalling here from Hudson.

Hudson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hudson throws a hook but Jones avoids it easily.

Hudson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Hudson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hudson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Hudson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Jones has hold of Hudson's hands but Hudson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hudson winds up and cracks Jones with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hudson cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hudson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hudson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jones can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Hudson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jones is surviving well by controlling Hudson's body position as best he can.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hudson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hudson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hudson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jones for as long as he can get away with.

Hudson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jones's head.

Hudson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Hudson counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hudson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
