The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Figgs has a takedown stuffed.
Bowles keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Bowles shoots in and drives through. Figgs sprawls well.

Bowles fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Figgs sprawls well initially but Bowles persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bowles is working for a kimura but Figgs is defending it quite comfortably.

Bowles is working for an americana but Figgs has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Bowles was thinking about the submission.

Bowles is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Figgs is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Figgs has escaped and now he's on top!

Figgs drops back looking for a leg! Bowles is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bowles manages to kick Figgs off! Figgs jumps back into Bowles's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Figgs works over Bowles with some ground and pound from guard.
Figgs lands a couple of digs.

Bowles isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Figgs stacks Bowles on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Figgs!

Bowles tries to improve his position but Figgs has taken his back! Figgs has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Bowles tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Figgs pushes Bowles away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
