Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zane Price (ranked 6110 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderthorn Winnsleth (ranked 7562 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zane Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anderthorn Winnsleth!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ben Hemmingworth and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Price decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Winnsleth tries to get to full guard but Price has control of the leg.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Price in particular looking to stall.
Winnsleth is looking to improve his position.
Price could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Winnsleth makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Winnsleth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Price is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Winnsleth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Winnsleth gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Price to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Winnsleth is looking to stand back up but Price counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Winnsleth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Price content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Price stops Winnsleth from getting back to his feet.

Winnsleth has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Price is on him like a limpet, forcing Winnsleth back against the cage.
Winnsleth tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Price wants to break free but Winnsleth has control.
Winnsleth is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Price pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Price breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Price dives in and grabs Winnsleth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Winnsleth pushes down on Price's head and hops out.
Winnsleth is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Price feints and as Winnsleth raises his hands in defense, Price changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Winnsleth has his hands on Price's head, controlling the position.
Price seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Zane Price will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Price's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Winnsleth wants to get back to his feet but Price is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Winnsleth avoids a punch combination nicely.
Winnsleth is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Price tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Winnsleth defends well and Price ends up having to push Winnsleth into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

As Price backs off Winnsleth throws a huge counter combo but Price manages to avoid it all.

Price tries to close the distance and clinch but Winnsleth swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Winnsleth unleashes a big counter combination but Price bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Price tries to bum rush Winnsleth with a series of wild strikes but Winnsleth uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Winnsleth lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Winnsleth displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Price.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zane Price. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Price shoots in looking for a takedown. Winnsleth tries to sprawl out of it but Price keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Winnsleth manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Price tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Winnsleth counters with a left and a right that stings Price.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderthorn Winnsleth showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Winnsleth is trying to pull guard but Price turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Winnsleth jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Price walks away with a smile on his face. Winnsleth gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Price got a little sloppy there for a moment and Winnsleth has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Price has managed to get both his arms back between Winnsleth's legs - danger averted.
Price might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Winnsleth wants to sweep here but Price controlling him for the moment.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Winnsleth trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Price is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
As Price backs off Winnsleth throws a huge counter combo but Price manages to avoid it all.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Price closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Price lands in his opponent's guard.

Winnsleth manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Price jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Winnsleth walks away with a smile on his face. Price gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Price is looking to clinch but Winnsleth is avoiding it.

Winnsleth lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Zane Price.
I think Price has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
