Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elwood Blair (ranked 5930 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Irving (ranked 5819 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elwood Blair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Irving!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Skip Squint and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Irving lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Blair has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Blair and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Irving is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Blair blocks a low kick nicely.
A bone on bone clash there as Blair blocks the leg kick.
Blair is looking for a counter combo.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blair drives through with a takedown into guard.
Irving really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blair. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Blair postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Irving shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Some bone on bone action there as Blair checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blair swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Irving stuffs the takedown attempt from Blair. Blair gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Irving lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chris Irving will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Blair closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Irving scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Blair manages to mount him!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Irving tries to improve his position but Blair has taken his back! Blair has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Irving tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Blair pushes Irving away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Elwood Blair!
