Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between George Carlos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Sebastien Blais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos comes into the arena with Stronger blaring out of the sound system. Jean Sebastien Blais has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Sebastien Blais!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlos throws a wild body kick that Blais sees coming a mile off.
A punch combination from Blais misses.
Blais swats away the attempt to clinch by Carlos.
Blais closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carlos circles away.
Carlos is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Blais moves in looking to clinch but Carlos pushes him off.

and Blais counters by clinching up.
Carlos tries a knee to the head but Blais blocks it.

Blais pulls guard effortlessly.
Carlos is looking to stand up but Blais won't let him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carlos scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Blais tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Blais looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Carlos wants to get up but he can't break Blais's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Blais lands a nice leg kick that just misses Carlos's sensitive parts.
Carlos tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Blais counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Carlos is not content to let Blais control the position.

Blais is working for a kimura but Carlos is defending it quite comfortably.
Carlos is trying to escape back to his feet but Blais uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Blais goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carlos rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Blais's guard! Nice work there by Carlos!

Carlos decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Blais, up you get!
Carlos closes the distance looking to clinch

and Blais decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carlos's guard.

Blais thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Carlos is looking to stand up but Blais isn't so interested in that idea.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Carlos wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Blais has him pressed against the cage.

Blais escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carlos clinches but Blais breaks the clinch

Blais effectively controlling the action here.

Blais jumps guard and drags Carlos to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Carlos stands up and waves to Blais to follow him.

Blais drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Carlos is looking to stand up but Blais isn't so interested in that idea.

Carlos pushes Blais off and scrambles back to his feet.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Carlos misses with a knee to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Blais.

Carlos breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Carlos tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Blais counters with a takedown into side control.
Carlos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Carlos tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Blais looking for a guillotine from mount but Carlos is having none of it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blais takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jean Sebastien Blais showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Carlos is pushing Blais's head away, looking to escape. Blais manages to hold on to the position though.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Blais feints and as Carlos raises his hands in defense, Blais changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Blais is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Carlos knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Carlos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carlos is trying to get back to his feet but Blais has full control of the position and if anything, Carlos has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Blais really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Carlos.
