PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turgay Savas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keyvan Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savas comes to the cage accompanied by Rammstein - Feuer Frie. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Turgay Savas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Keyvan Silva!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savas throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Savas shows good takedown defense.

Savas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

and Savas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Silva!
Turgay Savas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keyvan Silva.

Silva bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Savas is proving hard to escape from.

Savas seems keen to control Silva's posture.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Turgay Savas just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Silva fails to land the takedown.

Savas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Savas with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Savas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Savas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Savas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Silva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Savas is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Silva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Savas's back instead.

Silva is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Savas has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Silva doesn't have the hooks in and Savas manages to turn into his guard.
Savas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Savas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Savas could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Savas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Silva looks to land a combination but Savas avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Savas as he jumps to the side.

Savas shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Savas is stalling in the full guard.

Savas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Savas, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Savas against the cage but Savas circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva fails to land the takedown.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Savas fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Savas tries to break the clinch but Silva is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Savas with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Savas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva has his takedown stuffed

and Savas counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Savas stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Savas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silva's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Turgay Savas dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!

and Silva counters with a big uppercut that knocks Savas off his feet! Silva dives into side control looking to finish!


Savas is rocked!
Savas taking punishment in the form of punches.
Oh Savas is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Silva is working to tighten is grip on Savas's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Savas has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Savas passes out! Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Keyvan Silva!
