Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richie Sambora!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Jonathan Paton and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutierrez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sambora paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sambora looks like he wants to counter punch here.

enabling Sambora to counter with a crisp jab.

and Sambora counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sambora avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Gutierrez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A jab from Sambora finds it's way through Gutierrez's defenses.
Julio Gutierrez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gutierrez moves in looking to clinch but Sambora pushes him off.
Sambora feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sambora looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Sambora prevents Gutierrez from getting back to his feet.

Gutierrez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Sambora advances to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sambora connects with a nice short shot to Gutierrez's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sambora stops Gutierrez from getting back to his feet.
Sambora scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sambora lands a nice short elbow.
Ground and pound from Sambora.
Sambora lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Gutierrez quite badly. Gutierrez pulls Sambora in close trying to recover. Sambora postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Gutierrez on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Gutierrez doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Richie Sambora!
