The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benoit avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
labod looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
labod looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Benoit fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. labod sprawls well initially but Benoit persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Benoit seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but labod does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Benoit perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Benoit frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Benoit is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. labod defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Benoit just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Benoit has eaten all the pies!
Benoit's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Benoit is working for a rear naked choke. labod is not defending it well and Benoit has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! labod refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of labod's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
