PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lalli Koylio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Hach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Koylio might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Moonsorrow - Köyliönjärven Jäällä (Pakanavedet II). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lalli Koylio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quinton Hach!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koylio takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Koylio throws a right and a left that Hach avoids nicely.
Hach tries to clinch up but Koylio circles away and keeps his distance.
Koylio circles away from the clinch attempt.

Hach looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Koylio!
Koylio is looking to get to half guard.

Hach jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Koylio manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Koylio is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Koylio with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Hach is looking to advance position but Koylio won't allow it.
Koylio is not content to let Hach control the position.
Koylio wants to control but Hach is keeping busy.
Koylio makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Koylio.

Koylio manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Koylio looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Hach working to try and regain half guard.
Koylio working the ground and pound effectively.

Koylio is going olschool here, as he tries to force Hach to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hach shrugs it off.
Hach is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Koylio lands a heavy elbow.

Hach is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Koylio jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hach manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Koylio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Koylio in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Koylio trying to control the action but Hach is working from the bottom.
Koylio tries to score with some ground and pound. Hach controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Koylio throwing strikes but Hach manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Koylio scores with a leg kick.
Hach feints and then cracks Koylio's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Koylio down.
Hach tries a head kick but it misses.
Koylio looks to score with a jab to the body but Hach is just out of range.

Koylio cracks Hach with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Koylio blocks the body kick.
Hach goes for a high kick. It partially lands.


It looks like Lalli Koylio has been cut.
Hach slips under a jab.
Hach digs a good hook to Koylio's body.
Nice straight punches there by Hach. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Hach.
Koylio throws a series of punches but Hach avoids them all with ease.
Nice body punch from Koylio.
A solid leg kick lands there for Hach.
Hach waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Koylio.
Koylio takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Hach shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hach was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Koylio flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Hach landing strikes from the mount and Koylio is in trouble!
BOOM! Hach connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Hach tries to control but Koylio wriggling away.
Hach looking to finish Koylio with some ground and pound. This is bad for Koylio!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hach moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Koylio has worked his arm free - good work by Koylio!
Hach trying to control the position but Koylio is working away.
Koylio is looking to regain half guard here but Hach keeps moving and retains side control.

Hach working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Koylio tries to improve position but can't.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hach has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hach showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Koylio.
Hach misses with a body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Hach dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lalli Koylio's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.


Hach wants to slow Koylio down by chopping away at his legs.
Koylio misses with a double jab.
Koylio throws a right and a left that both miss.
A punch combination from Koylio misses.
Hach misses with a wild body shot.
Koylio throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Some wild striking there from Koylio.
Koylio throws a series of punches but Hach avoids them all with ease.
Lalli Koylio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A slapping leg kick lands for Hach.
Hach shoots for a double leg takedown but Koylio sprawls well. He's pushed Hach's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Hach drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hach advances position into side control!

Hach tries for a kimura but Koylio is defending well.

Hach goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Koylio rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hach's guard! Nice work there by Koylio!
Koylio stands up over Hach, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Hach is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Koylio drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Koylio jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hach being controlled here, momentarily.
Hach is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Koylio tries to free his leg and advance position but Hach is retaining full guard.

Hach looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Quinton Hach has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hach trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Hach trying to keep a closed guard but Koylio is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Koylio throws a right hand that Hach ducks under and follows up with a left that Hach also avoids with ease.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Koylio shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Koylio was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hach is looking to improve his position but Koylio isn't that keen on the idea.
Koylio cracks Hach with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Koylio is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hach can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Koylio trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hach is in all sorts of trouble here.

Koylio quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Koylio but it's paid off an Hach is forced to tap! Nice work by Koylio.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Lalli Koylio!
