Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Dunlop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Dunlop will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Pedro Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, James Dunlop!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a right and a left that Dunlop avoids nicely.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Jones is working Dunlop over against the cage.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Jones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Jones is looking to clinch but Dunlop is avoiding it.
Dunlop dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jones. That did some damage!

Dunlop closes the distance and pushes Jones back into the cage.
Dunlop landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Jones lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
Dunlop throws a nice inside leg kick.
Dunlop wants to clinch
and Jones counters with a series of strikes. Dunlop will be more careful next time no doubt.
Dunlop tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jones counters with a left to the body.
Jones fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dunlop connects with a nasty looking knee right to Jones's face.


It looks like Pedro Jones has been cut.
Dunlop blocking some punches.
Dunlop using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jones has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Jones fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Dunlop is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Dunlop, right into the meat.
Dunlop shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Dunlop has managed to clinch.

Jones has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Dunlop regains guard immediately.

Dunlop has his feet on Jones's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Dunlop throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Jones scores with a body shot.
Dunlop lands with a slapping head kick.

Jones clinches up against the cage.
Dunlop lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jones.
Dunlop looking to throw knees to the head but Jones is blocking nicely.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dunlop fails in his attempt to clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dunlop looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dunlop misses the shot to the body.
Dunlop is looking to clinch.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Dunlop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dunlop closes the distance but Jones moves to the side

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dunlop tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.
Jones tries to stand and escape but Dunlop is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dunlop wants to get back to his feet.
Jones is looking to advance position but Dunlop won't allow it.

Dunlop trying to control from the bottom.
Dunlop avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Jones.
Jones trying to control the action but Dunlop is working from the bottom.
Dunlop pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jones is looking to clinch.
Dunlop tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dunlop throws a sloppy head kick

and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones.
Dunlop gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Jones manages to break the clinch.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Jones.
Dunlop takes a kick to the side of the head.
Dunlop tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jones counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Dunlop gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Dunlop wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Dunlop is keeping the position.
Jones with a nice head shot there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones prevents Dunlop from getting back to his feet.
Jones cracks Dunlop with a solid left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dunlop, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones blocks an elbow strike from Dunlop.
Dunlop lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dunlop is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Dunlop wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Jones wants to break the clinch but can't.
Dunlop throws an elbow that misses.
A short right from Jones on the inside.

Jones pulls guard effortlessly.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.

Jones drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dunlop dives on top into guard.
Jones looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Dunlop puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Jones gets back to full guard.
Dunlop showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Jones has a closed guard, preventing Dunlop from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dunlop manages to get himself to full guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dunlop controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
Dunlop looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Jones wants to control from the top but Dunlop keeps moving.
Jones stands up over Dunlop, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Dunlop throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Jones postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Jones chips away with some ground and pound.

Dunlop keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
Jones postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jones gets to his feet - Dunlop follows without any prompting.
A lazy left from Jones finds it's target.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dunlop as he jumps to the side.
Dunlop tries to clinch but Jones moves away

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into side control. Dunlop won't be happy with that.
Jones tries to advance to mount but can't.
Jones works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dunlop pushes Jones away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jones gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jones decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Dunlop doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Dunlop circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dunlop looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones tries to clinch but Dunlop moves out of range.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Dunlop has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jones lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Dunlop backwards.
Dunlop trying to land knees to the body.
Dunlop tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dunlop's guard.
Jones wants to stand and escape but instead Dunlop has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dunlop decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jones, up you get!
Dunlop tries to clinch

and Jones counters by clinching up.
Jones lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Dunlop lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Nice body punch from Dunlop.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Pedro Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dunlop tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Jones counters with a nice uppercut.
Jones misses with a two punch combination.
Dunlop tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jones tries to clinch up but Dunlop circles away and keeps his distance.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dunlop misses with the head strike.
Dunlop keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jones blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Jones lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Dunlop tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Jones working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Dunlop swings wildly with an uppercut but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dunlop tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jones's elbow.

Jones breaks the clinch.
Jones lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Dunlop tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Jones clinches up with Dunlop and pushes him back against the cage.
Dunlop misses with the head strike.
Jones gets underhooks to prevent Dunlop's takedown attempt.

Jones manages to pull guard.

Dunlop wants to get up but he can't break Jones's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Dunlop won't allow Jones to sweep him here.
Jones is looking to stand up but Dunlop isn't so interested in that idea.
Jones trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Dunlop trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Jones shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Jones was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Pedro Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jones tries to control but Dunlop wriggling away.

Jones thowing shots but they're missing.
Dunlop keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
BOOM! Jones connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Jones looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Dunlop manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Dunlop is looking to escape.
Jones seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dunlop does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Dunlop tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dunlop is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.

Dunlop flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
James Dunlop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pedro Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A head kick misses from Jones.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

And that's the end of the fight!
Pedro Jones showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
