Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Adams (ranked 1000 p4p, 147 weight class) and Ryu Aokison (ranked 1235 p4p, 176 weight class). Adams kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Thom Pace - Maybe. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams doesn't manage to clinch there - Aokison circles away.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Aokison is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Adams is just riding it out for now. Aokison eventually gives up the hold.

Adams looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Aokison with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Adams lands a nice hook to Aokison's body. Aokison takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

James Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Aokison connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

letting Aokison counter with a right hand.
Aokison takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Aokison's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Adams connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Aokison scrambles back to his feet.

Adams slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Adams throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Aokison on the side of the head.
Adams ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Adams cracks Aokison with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Aokison is rocked!
Adams finds Aokison's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Aokison flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Adams lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Aokison will be OK.
