The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Oliavo is defended easily by Callaway.
Oliavo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Oliavo closes the distance but Callaway moves to the side
and Callaway connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Josue Oliavo has been cut.

Oliavo moves into range and clinches up with Callaway.
Oliavo misses with an elbow strike.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee calls for Oliavo to work.
Oliavo is trying to push Callaway away but Callaway has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Callaway breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oliavo just misses with a punch to the body.
Callaway keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gary Callaway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josue Oliavo.
Oliavo closes the distance but Callaway moves to the side
and Callaway counters with a huge left! Oliavo is in big trouble! He's backing up but Callaway isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Oliavo from any more damage. A dominating finish by Callaway!

Gary Callaway decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
