And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Freddie Salvador!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Callahan forces Salvador back against the cage and clinches.

Callahan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Salvador misses with a low kick.
Callahan is looking for a counter combo.
Salvador tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck for Salvador with that takedown attempt.
Callahan slips a jab and a cross from Salvador.

Callahan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Salvador is trying to defend but Callahan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Salvador should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Callahan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvador is controlling Callahan's trapped leg to prevent Callahan from advancing to side control.

Salvador is trying to control but Callahan manages to pass to mount!

Callahan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Callahan lands a nice shot to the head.
The referee warns Salvador that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Salvador really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Callahan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Callahan looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Salvador tries to control the position but Callahan now has his back.

Callahan is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Salvador is trying to defend against the choke here but Callahan has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Callahan Tightens the hold and Salvador taps out furiously! Callahan displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jon Callahan!
A relieved looking Jon Callahan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Freddie Salvador was interviewed post fight and said 'Failed my fans, coaches and manager. But most importantly, i failed myself.'.
