Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, William Spud!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takumi Sagaki!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sagaki is defended easily by Spud.
Sagaki slips under a jab from Spud.
Sagaki misses with a wild combination.
Spud throwing a counter right hand but Sagaki manages to avoid it.
Sagaki slips under a jab.
Sagaki tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Spud closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Spud keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sagaki's efforts to push away.

Spud's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Nice uppercut lands for Spud. That snapped Sagaki's head back.


It looks like Takumi Sagaki has been cut.
Spud misses with a hook. Sagaki ducked under it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sagaki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spud as he avoids it easily.
Spud slips a straight right by Sagaki.
Sagaki throws a head kick that misses.
A low kick from Sagaki misses
and Sagaki takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sagaki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
William Spud has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takumi Sagaki.
Sagaki misses with a body punch
and Spud counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Spud stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Sagaki throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Spud counters with a nice right hand that sends Sagaki toppling to the canvas! Sagaki scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Spud finish him?!
Sagaki is still on wobbly legs! Can Spud finish him?
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Spud lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Sagaki falls backwards - clearly groggy! Spud dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). William Spud!
